I have found a love for decorating and baking cakes for the kids parties but I want to get better at it and do more of it, so how many of you decorate and bake your own cakes?
Any tips or advice you could give me would me appreciated TIA ❤️
I second this! Measuring cups are no where near as accurate! I bought a $15 scale on amazon and it gets used every day! I love that little thing!
Look up How2CookThat on youtube. She gives a ton of tips on how to decorate really cool cakes, and tips on how to save cakes on the occasion they fail or get messed up. It’s very helpful and entertaining!

Scale and a lazy susan. Practice practice practice. Baking is a fun hobby.
Fun tip: use mashed potato (the dry flakes) to practice icing skills if you need practice. Then use actual icing when you have had a good grip on it. Piping bags and a few piping tips are a good set to have.

Sometimes towns or counties will offer classes to adults in all kinds of things for free. I’ve seen different levels of cake decorating classes offered here. Check to see if they offer anything like that around you!

Also I’ve seen classes at Joann Fabrics! I think they have a lot online now.
I do. A cake turning table is a must for me. I still do box cake but I do my own frosting an I have a lot of different food coloring for the frosting and spray coloring. Still learning. Might invest in like cake decorating kit. For holidays and parties i make cakes an dessert. I only do banana cake and cheesecakes from scratch.

Thankfully the set I bought comes with a turning table! I am really excited about that because it will be much easier to decorate
@caffeinequeen nice. I will definitely get a set soon. A 789 Wilton tip also very handy to decorate and a icing spatula. You will need a big bag to go with the 789 wilton tip.

Practice! That’s all you can do. Start this week make something. I LOVE baking it’s all about practicing . My neighbor started her own business and is booming she is constantly making all the things

Watching cake wars not only makes me want a huge cake to myself, but also makes me believe I'm a baker and amazing cake decorator (I can't bake) 🙄😂
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?
