As mothers, if you do trick or treating, would you want a warning?
When we did trick or treating we only went to houses we knew.

Sure would like a warning! I don’t want my kids near that mess. I don’t need one of those sickos seeing one of my kids and having that person potentially target my kid, knowing he lives close by/in the neighborhood. These people aren’t monitored closely enough nor do they get nearly enough time, if any. I’m all for this. That being said, the VAST majority of sexual assault cases never get prosecuted so there are far more around than we even know.

The judge said there’s nothing stopping sex offenders from participating in Halloween, I’m shocked. I thought things that were for children were off limits?

It’s probably bc it’s their property and not an event that they are attending? People coming onto their property to ring the doorbell… something like that? Thank goodness for the sex offender registry!

There’s a website you can put in your address and it shows you the sex offenders nearby. Now obviously they have to be compliant offenders who actually registered their address but it is semi helpful when you know your kid plays in certain areas or you’re looking to purchase a house.

I worked at an office and a mom came in livid, kept her kids out of school and was going all out. She said the school that her kids went to had an area where ppl could go and vote. Well apparently sex offenders can somehow be allowed to vote again and they could go to the school and vote. She was like it wouldn't be so bad but the kids would be at school and the offenders would be free to walk to campus. She wasn't a fan. Apparently no one saw an issue with that!

Here, sex offenders can enter our schools if their kids go there. I was completely shocked one day when I saw a man I knew was on the registry in our primary school. I called the principal, there was nothing they could do. He was picking his 2 girls up from afternoon childcare.

meeee too! I worry about parents not knowing and letting kids little friends come over. I hope people watch the registry. Or even him being at the school and given any opportunity with any child. His victim was his very young step brother, sicko.
