Что делать, если у малыша экзема и появились красные пятна?
My toddler has eczema pretty bad and today his skin was very rough and more dry than normal. I went to out lotion on him and I noticed red spots and he started screaming and turning and grabbing his skin as if he was on fire. Do anyone have any advice or experience with this? I put some ointment on him and he’s calm now but that scared me and I’m thinking of going to the hospital.

If my hands are extremely dry, I get contact dermatitis when I put lotion on. My skin burns pretty badly, turns bright red, and itches so much I want to scratch the skin off (obviously I don't, it eventually passes) but I am guessing it is similar with eczema too. There are several moms on here with babies with skin issues, they can probably help, but I wouldn't go to the ER. I wouldn't use that particular lotion again, it probably had urea or another irritating ingredient. I will see if I can find posts to tag you in.

Thank you so much! I didn’t go my husband said we should throw away the lotion and get him some thick cream and try at home first and getting him with the dermatologist.

My oldest has sensitive skin and gets rashes very easily. If his skin is extra dry, he says the lotion hurts when we put it on him. I have noticed his skin gets a little more red when rubbing lotion in when he’s extra dry too.

I think that’s what it was. He was very dry and I think it made it worse rubbing him with lotion and the lotion had alcohol which I didn’t expect because it was Eucerin. I been applying a cream every few hours trying not to allow him to get dry.

I wouldn't go to the ER over this. moisturize his hands and then put aquaphor on them to help seal the moisture in. I did this at night with my kiddo one year. Add mittens to really let the aquaphor stay on if he'll let you.

Thank you ! I ended up not going and been searching for the best creams for him to use. The one he had was alcohol in it and that can’t help if he’s dry.

Also only bathe him every other day if you can so his skin doesn't dry out.

Thank you ! I definitely need to do this because he loves getting in the tub and he bathe everyday most days twice a day. So he’s been drying his skin out and the lotion wasn’t helping with the alcohol.

Please don’t go to the hospital over this. They are so over capacity. I agree w suggestions to use aquaphor. Probably skip bathing for a few days. If any messes just do a gentle sponge bath. Call pedi first thing Monday.

Thank you ! I didn’t go. I wanted to go because of how he was acting it had me almost in tears to see him screaming like that. I skipped bath tonight and applied cream a few time throughout the day to keep him moisturized. I called his doctor and trying to get in with a dermatologist.

yes a referral to derm would be super helpful!

Don't use any lotions with fragrance in them. Apply Aquaphor several times a day.

Thank you ! I got rid of the lotion he was using. Surprisingly the Eurcerin had alcohol and other drying agents.
