Why is Covid testing so expensive?

Why is it so freaking hard to get a Covid test?!? And why are places like the health department charging $177 for a test?!?! Ugh

Over here we are being told unless over 50 or 18 and under they can't test you because are area and state is that low on test.

Maybe I’m understanding things wrong, but arent the PCR tests the ones that the cdc just said shouldnt be used because they cant tell the difference between covid and the flu, or am I just confused?

This stuff is so confusing to me. I need clarification. Or are there different PCR tests that work better?

But anyways, I’m sorry they wanted to charge you so much for one. That’s crazy! I hope everything comes back negative when you get one!

@llamapantaloons exactly! Thank God my eyes opened up after a year of this covid crap lol I mean, I knew it was all planned but I still bought into it because I was watching the news. When I stopped, I felt freedom. Can you imagine living in the amount of fear they live in on a daily basis?

@heatherlou88, Yeah, I stopped following most news about a year and a half ago. It just started to seem fishier and fishier, and things werent adding up at all.

Pcr tests are free. If you get the at home kits then that is out of pocket. I never paid for a PCR test before and I took several.

We paid 150 for my husbands it was rapid, pcr, and flu but still was annoying. I finally found a place who did a rapid on me yesterday, and a place that’ll do pcrs on me and the kids Thursday for free

The standard test should be free! But if you want a rapid I think it costs.

I got a at home test for 25 at Walgreens.

I took one of those yesterday and it was negative but I woke up today with no smell or taste so I went to an urgent care, they wanted to charge me a ridiculous amount as well and gave me no options. So I called the health department and that’s what they also told me. I came to a different urgent care that takes my insurance so I’m getting a rapid test done and they are also sending one off for lab testing to be safe.
