Was this doctor really necessary?
I have never experienced such a pushy rude ass dr like tonight. My entire experience was trash. First they put me in the recovery area as the csection moms. Not sure why maybe short staffed because the triage rooms were empty. I felt like that was inappropriate beings they didn’t test me for covid as they put me side by side these other moms with just a curtain to separate us. they even brought in their newborn baby’s. What if I was a symptomatic and had covid and passed that to these moms and baby’s? At one point I had to go into the bathroom to leave another sample (some how someone lost my urine sample the first time) and I had to walk right by the baby that was left out of the curtained area. Anyways the senior resident was so pushy about checking my cervical length with the vaginal ultrasound and checking for dilation after I told her no. She continued to guilt trip me and after I kept saying I’m not interested she went on to tell me that it would be catastrophic to go into preterm labor right now and why she needs to check me. She just became so rude after I told her I was aware of all the risk, I understood her point but I wasn’t concerned. My contractions were not consistent, I knew they were from my UTI, I haven’t had any leaking, bleeding and baby has been active. She was so nasty I just gave in and said go for it but I definitely made sure to speak to her higher up and left my complaint. The nurse said she’s always like that but most people are afraid to complain. She said it’s your body and your right. Exactly! One No should have been enough.

I’m sorry you had to endure that. I’d be pissed. I get nurses/doctors are stressed and under staffed but being rude and pushy is a definite no. I would of complained too.

I'm sorry you went through that. No one should ever be treated like that.. i know hospitals are packed and under staff and over worked right now but I really am sorry to hear you were treated that way

That's a nightmare experience from start to finish. What should have been a very simple urgent care or CVS minute clinic visit became a 5 hour horrible ordeal.
Can you deliver anywhere else? That hospital is obviously nit running properly, from people sitting unmasked to parading people by newborns. Wtf. And that doctor? They should have documented what you said and moved on immediately. You needed to get that antibiotic in your system asap.

I have to speak with my ob office about that. I am high risk and I delivered all my other kids at a hospital closer to me. They do deal with high risk but I need to find out how to be able to deliver there. I don’t know if it means I would have to transfer ob care. But the hospital i’m supposed to deliver at is supposedly one of the best around. I didn’t get that vibe at all. lol

thank you guys, the nurse even told me while she was charting my stuff that the dr is going to try to find something to keep me. I’m like oh hell no, I have 3 kids at home, gotta go. lol I guess it’s her norm to do. But it’s covid, y’all are packed, short staffed. let me go. The nurse said they were down 40 nurses from their unit because they had covid. I really didn’t even want to bother them, i just wanted my prescription for this UTI. I understand it puts me at risk even more for pre term labor, I understand the risks and that’s why I did my best to get seen yesterday and called the on call and listened to her advice. But don’t be extra
