What to do to get Charlie to take Calpol?
If anybody has any suggestions on getting some calpol into Charlie?. When I tell you for 5 years we have tried EVERYTHING and I mean everything. He needs to take some but I’m fully out of ideas on getting it into him

Nope tried and failed miserably with mixing it. And pinning him just doesn’t work he spits it all out 😩

What about the calpol melts? Pretend they are a sweat? I feel for you my Sophias 8 and hates calpol. She know it works. She went through 3 bottles the other week when she had covid and we have now started again as she has taken a reaction to the flu spray but honestly you’d think I’d offered her crack the way she acts xxx

I’ve tried them he won’t take them because of the initial texture 😩 aww no bless her, she must of felt rough if she caved in! Hope she’s feeling ok. It’s honestly a nightmare when you’ve got kids that won’t take anything, I hate to think how rotten he must feel and it can be helped!! X

I love calpol any excuse for me 😂 my mum said it used to knock me out as a kid 😂😂😂

Ask your oh to wrap him up in a towel so his arms aren't swinging and do it like you would a baby in little bits to the side of his cheek and both of yous blow his face it will make him swollen it whilst you try and hold his mouth. Its absolutely torture to them but its better you than taken him the hospital and they do it to him before it comes to drips. Hope he has a speedy recovery this is the last thing you could do with🥺 x

Admitted defeat and took him back up to bed, no doubt he’ll be up again soon so I’ll have to give this ok. We have tried similar before and it didn’t work but the blowing might do the trick! Stuck him in our room where it’s a lot cooler so hopefully that’ll keep it at bay for a bit, the trouble is he wants a million blankets because he thinks he’s cold so I feel awful telling him he can’t have them 😩 even worse that he’s suffering when he doesn’t need to be if he would just take the medicine. Thanks lovely, he’s such a hyper bone stop kid it always hits hard to see him so lethargic and unwell 🥺

But try it into the back of the cheek and then blow on his face xx

You tried laying him on his back put it all in his mouth and hold his mouth shut rub his throat till he swallows?

Oh bless him. How's he doing today? I can't offer any advise sounds like you've tried it all! Have the doctors ever suggested alternative for children who refuse kids medicine?

Oh no bless him. If he isn't far off being 6yrs old I'd be tempted to try one of the calpol 6plus fastmelts. One fast melt is 250mg of paracetamol and normal dose for 5yr old is 240mg. Obviously your choice. My friends little boy doesn't take medicines (he's autistic) and usually almost always ends up in hospital on a drip and IV antibiotics. Its heart breaking.

@mrsmowmow, @sara-lou86, he’s a lot better now, he perked up yesterday afternoon. It’s an inset day at school today and I would say he’s back to his usual self because it’s only 11:30 and I’m ready to ship him off somewhere 🤣
