My oldest doesn’t get into trouble, he is a good kid but he’s slaking in his school work and there has to be some consequences for it. I am here rehearsing how to approach this before he comes home😂😂. He has mild anxiety and even when he was much younger he would shut down if he felt he disappointed someone, he would close himself off in his room and I don’t want him to sulk. I know he can get the work done.

Maybe talk to him first if you haven't already without consequences. School has been hard on alot of kids since covid and maybe there is something going on mentally that's making it hard to focuse and or want to complete work. If you have already talk to him about shaking off then I definitely would consider consequences.

I haven’t spoken to him yet. I give him the freedom to be responsible with his own work but he still a kid and I only looked into his work because he asked me to stay home to complete missing assignments. I told him he still needed to go to school but I don’t want to take him games away because it’s the only form he has to communicate with his friends and family. But some other privileges will be revoked until his assignments are completed.

@latinamomof3 i totally understand that you can do no games until all school work is complete each day then his time is his to use how he wants

that’s what I was thinking as well. I have both his canvas and google classroom to see if he completed his work.
