I don’t know if it’s how I was raised or a Latin culture thing when it comes to hair lol it is breaking my heart that both my son and daughter want their hair short. My 8 year old used to have long beautiful hair going down his back and I guess he was getting picked at for it because he kept saying he didn’t want “girl” hair. The look on his face when it was short it was as if he finally saw himself. My daughter wants short hair too because she hates having it brushed 🙄. They both reminded me not to forget to go to the store to get all the supplies for their haircuts 😭😭😭😭. I know some will say you are the parent you don’t have to do what they want, don’t cut it if you don’t want to. But I’m the type of parent that want them to express themselves freely and don’t want them to feel uncomfortable with themselves even if it means that they want haircuts that I personally don’t want them to have. Maybe when they are older they may want to let their hair grow out, I can still dream lol.
