So what my son has is decoding type central auditory processing disorder. It helps understand exactly the type but I feel more loss than ever. But my son has an amazing therapy team and they already said once they understand his full diagnosis we will sit together to talk about what it means. I just got a call from the development pediatrician and he has an app in February. I got to tell the mom guilt to back off that there was no way that I would have known that his development or lack of with speech was because of this disorder even if I did he was too young to be tested.

Mom guilt doesn't follow logic patterns, even though you know and I know he couldn't have been diagnosed earlier. You addressed his issue and assembled a super star team. Instead of beating yourself up, save that energy for the meetings with the team, coming up with a plan, and helping the school staff understand it. It will be a job, but you can do it! <3
