I’m grateful to have the medical and nursing knowledge to know when to take my kids in and the correct focused assessments but no one prepares you for when it’s your own children. 😞 I have never ever seen my son like this. It’s so damn scary. One minute he’s up and talking. The next minute he’s lethargic and won’t speak and his eyes are so bloodshot and heavy. I’m so damn pissed they didn’t keep him for continuous monitoring. Set my alarm for every 2-3 hours to check them in the middle of the night with the pulse ox. One minute he’s low; next minute he’s high. There is no peace.

It's very distressing when it's your own children and with an illness thay there's no quick fix for. Make sure you're getting enough nutrition even if it's just protein shakes. I'm thinking of you guys.

They gave you a pulse ox to bring home and monitor? Fortunately RSV in kids usually needs to run it’s course but if he’s struggling to breathe you should take him back.

I have one already. I’m a last year nursing student so I have most of the equipment but they just shrugged him off knowing his O2 has been up and down. It’s so frustrating.
