Mommies please say a prayer for me to have a peace of mind. Im currently out of work because of covid, my husband is in school to get his cdl license so we only have his disability check coming in which isnt much, and to top it off our landlord wanted to do a walk through which we agreed to. We tell him he has to wear a mask and gets sprayed when he comes in because I'm pregnant and our daughter's immune system is low, he agreed. When he got here he refused and said we're getting evicted and have to move out in 30 days. So now we have to find a place to stay and on top of it all baby boy will be here in 7 weeks and we're not even ready 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ I'm swear I'm losing my mind

That was absolutely rotten and horrible of him. Evicting a pregnant woman in a pandemic. :( I will most certainly keep you in my prayers. I hope your husband is close to graduation because I am pretty sure there are tons of jobs right now with good sign on bonuses.

Not sure if you truly are in VA, but eviction protection is in place until 2022, so look into that. You said you've paid your rent on time every month, and keep the property in good condition, so if you really don't want to leave you don't have to. I don't think not permitting him to enter the premises is grounds for eviction. Also, eviction is a process, and you have the option to fight it

He did give us a reason. It's because we asked him to spray himself before entering our home. And he's going to the courthouse this week to get the written notice. We're going to go to the courthouse as well to look further into it. My husband and the landlord are supposed to talk face to face today so we'll see how that goes

@momofkem_sam when does your lease expire? If he's evicting I guess it's still in place. I honestly wouldn't worry too much, it sounds like he's just flexing guys landlord power not knowing how limiting it really is. Him not wanting to sanitize is not grounds for eviction, did you guys discuss it in text messages? I wouldn't meet with him, for his court documents he will need to give a reason for eviction, so if it really because he didn't want to sanitize, he's going to sound like a fool. I think, but I'm not sure, that if he has a reason to evict, he has to be open to working on solutions for his reason/problem.

unfortunately we didn't get it in a text. He did agree to it over the phone and when he got here he thought we were joking. Buy we pay our rent way before it's due, our home is still in great shape. We've been here for 4 years and never given him any problems so he really don't have any other excuse. Oh and our lease runs out in December I believe...my husband does that stuff

@momofkem_sam I wouldn't meet with him, or do anything until served with eviction papers. I would just look up tenant laws in my state and the power the landlords have. You could go down to the courthouse to get information regarding an eviction, or in this case a threatened eviction, but you can get all that information online, maybe there's even a number to call. This landlord is just a big waste of time

I certainly will do that. My husband's class doesn't end until 5 so that gives me plenty of time to get some information so he won't have to meet him later
