My damn son doesn’t follow directions for nothingggg. He’s a virtual learner but it’s not a school district learning thing. He still had to go into his zoned school today to do some testing. This was his school for pre k-1st grade. I drop him off in the parent drop off and I tell him to go to the main door to the office. He goes to the side door and I yell for him to go to the office. I just called to make sure he got to the right place. This man was in a random 3rd grade classroom I guess waiting for class to start. Sir 🗣🤦♀️. At least he was in the right grade classroom I guess 🤷🏽♀️😂.

We're declining this session of the test, they offer it again in March to April. They wanted me to take my kid to a hotel and then go wait in my car while she takes a 3 hour test. Efff that. I'm not worrying if she had to go pee and some creep grabbed her.

@icebergahead I totally agree. We have a zoom call with the superintendent today and I think they are hoping most of us will just decline the test until covid chills out and kids can get vaccinated if they're going to in the spring.
There's no way there will be enough staff to safely supervise a group of 3rd graders for 3 hours. That's putting way too much on a teacher because you know they will all get bored and need to pee.
And all hotel staff would know parents aren't there. Predators just wait for opportunity and this just reeks of it.
The test is to make sure they can read at a 3rd grade level. Not to be cocky, but my kiddo has extremely high MAP test scores. Her teacher last year said in her 15 years of teaching she'd never had an 8 year old hit high school numbers on the test. So I think we will just go ahead and pass this nonsense and test in the spring.

When dd had to go for testing at her school last year, the teacher came out and guided her.
That is how it should be.
