I swear my husbands command is going to make me snap!!! I couldn’t get the kids in the walk-in covid testing because my husband and I switched cars. I called him to see if he could drop of the car also today is his duty day so it was hit or miss and he was asking why are we getting tested. I told him well two kids are showing cold like symptoms the schools both said the same thing we can have a choice of waiting for them to get better or getting a negative result for them to return, for peace of mind I want to get them tested. Since all the kids are getting tested I told my husband let’s get ourselves tested too. He tells his people and I don’t know how he worded everything that his ship medical was telling him “I don’t see why you have to get tested the schools can’t mandate you to get tested for the kids to go back to school” 🙄 well no they can’t but how about I’m the one mandating my husbands ass to get tested! About to make me go full depends on them 😂😂. They don’t want him to get tested cause they don’t want him to miss work, this ship is shady as hell their tests are expired, even if they get positive they will claim it a false positive and they told my husband that he will still have to go back to work pending results. They are fully aware that my kids have cold like symptoms and can’t go to school as a precaution but they had him go back to stand his last watch.

Idk, if one of my employees had a child with cold-like symptoms then they would still need to come to work unless of course they had to stay home to care for them. I still need people to fulfill their work obligations. Even if the child tested positive, vaccinated individuals don’t need to quarantine unless they have symptoms themselves per CDC guidelines.

I mean...he still has to work. He isn't showing symptoms and the kids don't have a positive test so there's not much you guys can do about that. That being said, it still is a sucky situation and I do hope that your family tests negative 🙂

We are on our 4th cold since school started in august. Its unfortunate for sure that this is even an issue but yes if parents didn’t work because of kids cold symptoms right now there would be very few people working

@ekko, @bodybycheetos, the frustration is mostly with how this ship managed to let others stay home and call out with just saying they have symptoms or been exposed but every time my husband tells them he needs to head home he has to jump through hoops.

Both my kids are sick. T hasn't been to school all week. Their dad dropped them off Thursday morning and all I can think is....he works from home, I don't and can't afford to get sick. But it is what it is. I'm deep cleaning the house currently and have been lysolling everything down throughout the days.
