I’m seriously so stressed out.
He’s been hovering around 100-103°. Tylenol brings it down to 100°. The Care Line worker told me to keep doing what I’m doing: giving Tylenol every four hours, keeping an eye on his temperature(if he gets to 103° and Tylenol doesn’t bring it down, then take him in), and watch his water intake. Of course he’s not wanting to drink anything besides milk, but she said that that’s better than nothing. I want him to sleep next to me tonight in my bed, and have my husband sleep in the guest room… But my son refuses to sleep with me. He’s like his crib or nothing kind of kid. But it makes me nervous not being in the same room with him. I’m going to set my alarm for every three hours to go in and feel him; make sure he’s not hot and the Tylenol is working. Ugh. I just wish you would sleep with me. 😫
Andddd my girlfriend was supposed to bring over an at home Covid test. She went to three CVS is, one Rite Aid, and to Walgreens and all of them were sold out. It seems like my city is completely out of tests. At home, or in person. I think I’m gonna call into work tomorrow, and drive around the outside of the city trying to find a test for me.
Ughhhh. I’m exhausted.

Awwww I can't imagine! It's a good sign that tylenol alone is keeping it down. Try popsicles tomo and I really hope he sleeps it off!

Mama, try not to stress 🥺. I just went through this 2 weeks ago. Literally same scenario except it was with my 13 year old (try asking her to sleep with me, yeah NO) 😅 ... needless to say after calling all over the city trying to find an at home test I found one, administered it... it was negative but I thought I clearly did it wrong as she continued to have a fever, stuffy nose congestion and headache. I took her to get a test the following day and it came back negative as well.. she's fully vaccinated BTW. I said all that to say, BREATHE. I know right now we see nothing but covid. But it could honestly be just a common virus or cold that is not covid. Keep doing what you're doing mama and I pray his temp and symptoms change by the morning!

@jennatess has his appetite changed at all?? I know he wants milk but has he still been eating foods? Has his behavior been different? Have you tried to alternate motrin and Tylenol? I normally don't like to do that as it's better to let their bodies attempt to fight but if it's upwards of the 103* it's definitely better to alternate.

he munched on some chips earlier, but he doesn’t really wanna eat anything else… But honestly his appetite has always been terrible😅. He’s been more clear than normal… Wants me to hold him consistently, which I don’t mind, he still a happy child, just wants more snuggles. He’s only had two doses of Tylenol so far, but I think I’m going to have my husband run down to Safeway and pick up some baby Motrin. So the next needed dose we can give him that.

😅😘girl you've got this!! Get all those snuggles in. It's super stressful but stay positive and keep doing all that you can! You already know what to do. We only had to give babygirl 2 or 3 doses and she was better. The baby motrin definitely wouldn't hurt, just in case!

Skin to skin! That will help his little body regulate temperature. Maybe cuddle on the couch for now.
jenna tess··
You’re a genius. Thank you! I’m going to hold him in his room on his rocker.

I hope it helps!! I did this until bella was 4. But we still cuddle when sick
jenna tess··
I swear that helped!
I went in there and took him out of his crib… He was sleeping already but he was warm and sweaty. I laid him across my chest and I rocked him with a light blanket covering both of us. I swear his body temperature went so down! Like he was due for a dose of Motrin right now, and I think I can push it off for another hour! 🙌🏼 thankkkk you SO much!

I hope he feels better soon! There’s lots of yucky stuff going around right now. Hopefully this virus will run its course quickly!

Will they test him at your doctor tmrw?
Honestly in my experience alternating Tylenol and Motrin every 4 hours works better than just one of them separately. Motrin works way better for fevers IMO, Tylenol better for pain.
jenna tess··
I’m about to dose him with Motrin for the 1st time today. 🤞🏼 idk if they’ll test him:/
Mamabirdddd··
they definitely should! ESP with these symptoms. Poor dude. Yes try Motrin! You can alternate them every 4 hours. I so hope he feels better. How are you feeling?
JenX·
Oh, I hope you both got some rest and he's feong better today. I hope you can find some tests at an out of the way place. They are scarce because Abbott Labs stopped producing them during the lull in May-June and then everyone started acting like idiots. :(

I hope he feels better soon! Did you have the check walmart for tests?

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I know it’s a lot. Zay’s therapist freaked out and couldn’t find a in home covid test anywhere, but rite aid drive thru pharmacy did it for her and had the result in 15 minutes. If you can’t find an at home test, call the pharmacies to see who can test you real quick.
Dontspankme·
Oh noo 😫 how’s he doing today?? Agree with the Tylenol and Motrin alternating. Where I live all of the at home tests are sold out as well. There should be some same day testing sites near you that doesn’t require appointments? A
