How many PreKs send home a page for corporal punishment?
Ours did, and I was like...ummm no way.
😬😬😬😬
😳
My husband's grandma was a bus driver when his dad was a kid and she was allowed to paddle kids.
Oh wow this is honestly disgusting! I would never send my child to school if they had any rules like this. I’m 28 years old and never have ever had a school talk about whooping a kids ass. I would love for someone to spank my child because I would be beating the shit out of them 🤷🏼♀️ we are in 2021 we are not back in the 60s-70s
Oh hell no. My kids would be pulled outta the school and homeschooled if I seen this shit, who in their right damned mind thinks this is even a question!
Ugh I love Texas 😭 Why people, why?! Please become at least a little more progressive so we don't keep looking so bad
I’ve never heard of this! Hell to the mf noo or I’ll paddle them back. What’s ISS?
It’s legal in Texas for some weird ass reason. They have to ask parents per state law.
that's when i’ll ask if the teacher wants to be paddled too what in the actual f*ckk
What in the entire fuck 😵💫 what’s going on with schools anymore
@leonardsquared, lol my child is far from an angel but I wish a teacher would try and paddle my son, I’ll paddler her ass into next week 😂 I honestly didn’t know that they do this still.. it’s actually crazy
@jays.mom. Right girl??! My kid is TOTALLY a brat, but we don't even spank him. I'll be DAMNED if ANYONE else puts their hands on my child!
@leonardsquared, spanking is not the way to do things by any means, my son has been in trouble two times since the school year has started and they’ve always come out and talked to my husband about it. They do have something called confinement, I just don’t know what they do. But let me find out someone is paddling boy 🥱
@mommiesgoneabitmad @professor.hashbrown I graduated in 2002 and the last time I was paddled was 6th grade. They DIDN'T call my Mama first and there was HELL to pay!
@professor.hashbrown I just remember bein like "oooohhh, she said THAT, ooooohhhhh you made my Mama mad"! 🤣
@leonardsquared good for your mom! I probably would have cried and taken my kids out. Good for your mama!
@scidg3 That teacher made a WIDE turn around my Mom at EVERY school event til I graduated. I shit you not! 🤣 She's the school counselor now and my kid goes there, she's always like sickenly sweet to me.
Holy crap! My mom retired from teaching 10+ years ago, but even THEN, no one did that here.
@professor.hashbrown when I was in high school I was the middle school attendance secretary in charge of the forms where a parents had to opt in to have corporal punishment, but that was 20+ years ago.
@jenx well that would have been when I was in 6th grade, so yeah that was my experience too.
That sounds freaking crazy!!! My 5 year old starts school this year n if i see this shit in the paper work i will be having a serious talk with the principal.. by any means noone is to lay a finger on my kid.. shit gets crazier n crazier
Its fantastic your kids have you to advocate for them! I guess some parents just say whatever 😢 I can't imagine being a small child and having some weird adult paddle me. I assume the school has an actual paddle too...I bet there's some law saying they can't use their hands or something
@professor.hashbrown, omg thats so scary for them babies having to start a whole new routine n getting paddled by a whole scary adult they dont even kno smh
Oh hell nah! I would have a freaking heart attack DO NOT PADDLE MY CHILD OR ELSE LOL THATS INSANE 🙄😬
That's the option I picked.
I do think its kind of crappy that the punishment instead is ISS...I don't see how ISS and paddling are the same level at all.
That's pretty much how I felt when I saw it. I definitely didn't expect that to be in the packet
@professor.hashbrown sounds like a Texas thing lol. That's crazy.
@ksmommyx3 lol probably. Why does my state have to be insane 😣 I love Texas
I was looking into it cause my mom sent me a video and it's legal in MANY states still. I want to say 19ish but I can't remember the exact number.
@leonardsquared see I'm not letting someone's job stress be taken out on my kid. I know how stressful kids can be and I can imagine more people snap than we realize.
@professor.hashbrown The teacher didn't do the paddling, the principal did, but it was like his/her decision to send you there. It was VERY confusing as a kiddo cause what you could get away with in one class would send another teacher over the edge. I was an undiagnosed ADHD kid, so I was "problematic".
@mommiesgoneabitmad yep. I remember (mostly boys) being paddled up through Jr high. It was either coaches or the principal who did it. There was an actual paddle. This would have been about 2000-2001
@professor.hashbrown, 🤯 thats insane to me ive only heard of my grandparents age group having this. I can’t believe it’s still legal
