How many PreKs send home a page for corporal punishment?

@mommiesgoneabitmad yep. I remember (mostly boys) being paddled up through Jr high. It was either coaches or the principal who did it. There was an actual paddle. This would have been about 2000-2001

@leonardsquared see I'm not letting someone's job stress be taken out on my kid. I know how stressful kids can be and I can imagine more people snap than we realize.

The teacher didn't do the paddling, the principal did, but it was like his/her decision to send you there. It was VERY confusing as a kiddo cause what you could get away with in one class would send another teacher over the edge. I was an undiagnosed ADHD kid, so I was "problematic".

I do think its kind of crappy that the punishment instead is ISS...I don't see how ISS and paddling are the same level at all.

Its fantastic your kids have you to advocate for them! I guess some parents just say whatever 😢 I can't imagine being a small child and having some weird adult paddle me. I assume the school has an actual paddle too...I bet there's some law saying they can't use their hands or something

when I was in high school I was the middle school attendance secretary in charge of the forms where a parents had to opt in to have corporal punishment, but that was 20+ years ago.

well that would have been when I was in 6th grade, so yeah that was my experience too.

@scidg3 That teacher made a WIDE turn around my Mom at EVERY school event til I graduated. I shit you not! 🤣 She's the school counselor now and my kid goes there, she's always like sickenly sweet to me.

@leonardsquared, spanking is not the way to do things by any means, my son has been in trouble two times since the school year has started and they’ve always come out and talked to my husband about it. They do have something called confinement, I just don’t know what they do. But let me find out someone is paddling boy 🥱
