Out of curiosity when did everybody leave work for maternity? I want to keep going as long as possible but also have to give 4 weeks notice and don’t want to start struggling midway through my notice. I work in care doing 12 hour night shifts so it’s quite an on the go job

I was wanting to go to the end but with working nights, Charlie’s at school in the day so I don’t get to see much of him and I’m getting guilt that he’s not spending a lot of time with me alone before he has to ‘share’ me if that makes sense. I suppose it all boils down to how big and painful I get lol

I was hoping to go right through till I dropped with grace I ended up being signed off sick from 28 weeks and then didn’t go on my maternity leave till I was about 30 weeks
But I was constantly in and out of hospital with her pregnancy
As had the scare of her potentially being born at 34 weeks due to not enough fluid around her x

I had induction booked for 38wks and left work at 36wks so I had time to make sure everything was ready and sorted etc (I was soo bored though)

@vixster, @dannielle96, @mrsmowmow, @miss_bubbles, thanks everyone. I was hoping to just go as long as possible but my boss called me today and said that the legislation has been passed and if I’m not double jabbed by 11th November she has no choice but to terminate my employment. So we’ve discussed putting Mat leave in before the deadline and she’s going to look into if I’ll still be eligible for maternity leave pay as I’ll technically still be under employment 😬 fingers crossed 😩😩
