For my first, I bought silly string and removed the caps before the reveal (all the cans look alike except for the colored caps). My husband and step daughter had a silly string fight at our family reunion to announce our girl. She was 11 at the time so it was a great way to include her and reveal she was going to have a little sister.

For my second, we used pink icing in a cake to tell the girls they were getting a sibling and the grandparents it was a girl since they already knew we were expecting.

I have always been a fan of things like cupcakes filled with pink or blue. I saw someone open a big box that had pink or blue helium balloons float out and the kids loved opening that.
