I seriously don't know what to do. My 4 year old (5 in september) is SO emotional and sensitive. She cries over every stupid little thing. And it's impossible to console her without her screaming getting worse. She is so loud and literally just will not stop and it takes nothing to set her off. Idk what to do but my patience and grace is wearing so thin. I never cave and give her what she wants. Like literally nothing calms her down or at least be quieter. I'm just exhausted and at a loss on how to fix it.

Has she always tended to be this way or do you think it's worse since Faith joined the family?

No she's been more of an emotional person always, it's just been getting worse the past 2 months. She adores Faith

My son is super sensitive like that. Honestly putting him in his room for about 4 mins really helps. He usually calms himself down enough. I try not to say anything or raise my voice. Hugging or talking doesn’t help but usually he will chill out in his own time.

I'm like that. I need a few minutes to myself or it's like throwing gasoline on a fire.

I am the same way! But usually with him, after a few mins, he’s good to talk it out. He’s just more sensitive and that’s ok, some things just need to be handled differently. I only have one though so idk how id handle it with more than one.

Don't quote me but maybe she needs new tools. One of my girls is super emotional and sensitive and this summer I'm trying to help her find new tools to help her cope. Maybe breathing and/or quiet corner with special activities, sensory bottle, yoga.
Give her emotions names like "oh mommy sees you are angry and your feelings are sad right now." Or shit, you guys live out in the boonies it looks like 🤣 Tell her you can't let her scream inside but let's go outside and scream together! 🤪
Right now the frustration build up the way she is handling is the only way she knows how. I had a hard time understanding my little and still messing up and learning with her but every so often she gives her emotions names and I'm like YAY! It helps!

These are flipping awesome suggestions.

Daniel Tiger songs work with my son, she just gets mad if I can't make her feel better immediately. I worked at a head start and have SO many tricks up my sleeves to help calm my kids but all of them just make her mad and more angry and louder

@countrypeaches42013 I love daniel tiger! 😍 Honestly I wouldn't try to fix it for her, just let her have those emotions and talk after she has cooled off. My daughter is the same way, it's like you can't reason with them when they are that crazed Nd in the moment. 😆 all the things I mentioned are during happy play time. I feel like schools should put a dealing with emotions class in their schedule!
Uhhhh·
Both my girls are very sensitive.
Aubrey shuts down and cries
Kynzleigh however is opposite
....
She'll cry then get angry....
I will say though when Aubrey was younger she would get frustrated and hit, usually herself.
I used to have to hold her and count down from 10 until she calmed down. It was the only thing that worked for her.
