@squishymommy1 I was just reading an article by a doctor who was saying vaccines are a victim of their own effectiveness. That we take for granted these horrible illnesses (like smallpox, a death sentence since the time of the Pharaohs) and think we are so educated we don't need to vaccinate. When people start seeing whooping cough in babies again, when children get diptheria and die of epiglottitis, then we'll decide maybe we aren't so smart with our Tik Tok and Facebook PhD's.
This is not coming at shannwoww83. Just a comment on an article I was reading that I thought was super poignant for our times.

@squishymommy1 no one has seen these illnesses for 40+ years, so it's like it never happened and vaccines don't matter. Then covid BLEW UP in our faces and the need became very clear. I just thought it was a very interesting point about how they were victims if their own effectiveness. Totally accurate.

I just sent my nephew a birthday card and told him we were so excited to hear about all their adventures this summer because the whole family is vaccinated now and they can go do whatever they want.
So happy for my sister and nephews, but jealous, too. The second my daughter is eligible, she's getting it. If they say we have to show up in Cincinnati and stick her arm up the pharmacy drawer slot at 3am at CVS. We will be there.

I’ve got my 6th grader to be, scheduled for his physical and vaccines in June. That way for his 12th birthday in Sept, we should be able to slide right into the Covid vaccine! Thinkin ahead, that’s me! 😉😂
