How many words does an child say at 2 years 2month ..cos nursey saying she might speech therapy . But willow say words and can little.bit of sentence too .

That seems odd for nursery to say that so young, tommy is still not talking fully but is slowly getting there. I asked if his nursery was concerned and they said not at all.
I think parents put too much pressure on kids speech, at the end of the day how many people do you meet that didnt learn to speak 🤷♀️😂 x

If you can get a video to send or show them. That will really help. I work in a nursery and some children we have are very quiet at nursery but super chatty at home. Nursery have to look into it if they haven’t seen much language there, it does seem a bit early though. But if you show them a video they can mark it off on her tracking.

I think children learn at different paces and some take more time than others to pick up new words etc, my first son didn’t speak much until nearer three years old and now he does not stop talking , my two year old says a handful of words and some two word sentences however he will be three in September, I wouldn’t worry or think about speech therapy yet your daughter is still only very young plus if she’s more vocal at home then I wouldn’t have any concerns , seems she’s just more comfortable in her home which is normal xx

Mine have all been different I’ve had one speaking in sentences at 18months old and one that others couldn’t understand till 3 and a half x

Yeah they just say it cos she don't speak much in nursery she speak loads at home . Out of her comfort zone I guess

She’s around the same age as George. He says a few words, sometimes a bit of a sentence but mostly makes sounds and just babbles to himself. I think it might be a bit early yet to determine whether she needs speech therapy

It cos they say she don't talk much in nursey ..she talk loads at home and stuff . I thought she might be shy Or she doesn't want too and only speak when she want too .

that’s common in small children. Nursery is a loud environment so some children do tend to be quieter. Unless you had any concerns about her speech I’d say it may be unnecessary.

thank you. I told them I speak to my health visitor next week for her 2 year check up and see if she need it.
