My husband got me Mother’s Day gifts for the kids to give me 😕. Don’t want to sound ungrateful but I want them to pick me something, even if it ends up being a toy they will take later lol. They are old enough to pick a gift for mommy lol. What he got doesn’t have to go to waste, our wedding anniversary is like a weeks after Mother’s Day.

I think Mother’s Day is something you should leave up to him and/or them. Telling them what to do makes it so it’s not really done from the heart. My husband gets me a gift every year. My oldest has had some years where he asks someone to take him to pick something out because he wants to. This year my 9 year old called my mom and asked her to take her shopping one day. I consider this special because it’s their motive to do it not because I told them I want a gift they’ve picked out. My 9 year old is over the moon excited for what she got me because it was 100% planned by her.

Ok I feel silly sounding like a parrot. All I ask for Mother’s Day if for my children to feel included in the celebration. I don’t want their name to be in a gift they have no idea was even bought. Like another mother stated, it’s about them not feeling left out. That’s all. Forget the gifts I just want my little family involved.

same thing 🤷🏻♀️ wanting them to pick a gift however they choose to do it is seeing they are not being left out. The kids like being involved and all I told my husband was that I wanted them to pick something. I even said that it would most likely be a small toy that’s for them but they feel I too would enjoy and we can “share” but it’s the fact that they were part of the decision making is what I want.
