My father has a housing voucher. Due to COVID-19, they had halted all safety inspections. Well, that started all of that back up again and my father just found out he has an inspection on May 17th. It can’t look like we are there so we are only going over there with a suitcase each to live out of, sleep on air mattresses and have the movers come back and move our beds and other little stuff in on the 18th.
My surgeon does his operations on Wednesdays and Fridays so I’ll call the surgeon scheduler tomorrow and tell her the earliest we could do this would now be May 21st.
I wouldn’t have us stay with my dad at all, but there aren’t any rentals out there right now, and I really don’t have a place for us to go. Inventory opens up once school gets out. We won’t be there long if I have anything to do with it.

Does he know his neighbors and get along with them well enough that they won’t report him? I’ve heard they’re cracking down really hard on this lately. Most times they will just pull the voucher but there are other times they make the person repay a certain amount if they’re found out.

@fairykarmamomma, ugh that’s so stressful! When do you have to be out of your current place? I’m glad the neighbors are cool with it, so at least you won’t have to worry about that while you recover.
@momgroupreject, yes, and also my father found out can report that I’m having surgery and me and my disabled child need to move in so I have help and get up to 3 months there.
The movers come this Thursday girl...
