Nursemaid’s elbow
Yesterday we were in the er to get my child’s elbow set.(my husband was helping her down the stairs and on the last step he pulled her up and that’s when her elbow got hurt)The er doctor told me it’ll take 24-48 hours for her to be 100%. Today is the first day and she’s still in some pain and I’m afraid there might be more damage. She’s getting better slowly but is still in some pain when she bends her hand to touch her shoulder. For those of you who had the same issue with your children, how long till they were 100% healed? Also for those of you that had a child with a fractured elbow how was your child feeling/how much pain were they in?

Well my kneecaps dislocate and I can tell you that it is going to be sore and stiff for a while. Especially if it was out for awhile. I can put my kneecaps back in place immediately and I still get swollen and sore every time.

My daughter had this when she was around 2.5....she was fine almost instantaneously. She was using it and what not like normal after 3 hours or so.

We had a case of nursemaid’s elbow with my oldest when he was a baby. He seemed fine the next day, but he wasn’t verbal enough to say for himself.
My kneecaps dislocate and it’s tender for a day or 2.
I’d say if she’s uncomfortable, some ibuprofen or Tylenol is alright.

@professor.hashbrown, @massgirl, @humblewarriormama, Thanks ladies for the reply’s. We have an appointment with a specialist tomorrow. It just got me worried that the dr was very firm in saying she will be 100% fine. Otherwise I would’ve waited a few more days. I hope tomorrow we’ll find out that it’s just bruised or something simple. I’m just so worried.

Thanks for asking. We went to the orthopedic and had x-rays done and she had a small fracture. The doctor put on a splint and she’ll have to keep that on for 2 weeks. She’s been doing so well with it on I’m amazed, I thought she’d be ripping it off but she acts like it’s not even there.
