Hey mamas. I just found I’m pregnant and my daughter is 8 months old.
She still is nursing and noticed she’s been crankier and eating more than usual I just tried to pump since she skipped her nursing to eat solids and was only able to pump 1 oz from both breast.
Has any of you had your milk supply drop due to pregnancy? I was planning to do the whole year of nursing with her but I feel like I might need to supplement now because she isn’t getting enough milk.

Sometimes your body doesn’t respond to the pump as well so I was always told the amount you pump is way less than the amount you’re actually producing. When kids start solids your supply generally decreases but hormones might also play a part. I would talk to her pedi and see what they suggest! Always try to nurse before showing her the solids too.

It could be pregnancy but it could also be a growth spurt for her. Just keep nursing her as much as she wants and give her whatever milk you pump. She will always be able to get more out then your pump so nurse directly whenever possible.
