I would suggest doing research from reputable sources and making an informed decision based on fact-based information. I am currently 27 weeks and got the vaccine. I was advised (by my doctors office) to wait until in the second trimester. I was 19 (first dose) and 23 weeks (second dose).

I researched and spoke with my OB before getting it and feel confident in my decision.

The doctor recommended because if I was to get COVID, I'm already at high risk and it would be bad

Are you safe with masking and social distancing? Or are you around people frequently who could possibly be exposed? I definitely agree with both points and already being in a risk group makes it more complicated. I would listen to your doctor and their advice and make a decision.

If you’re high risk and your doctor advised it then I would do it. Pregnant women are already at increased risk of severe illness and death as it is, couple that with being high risk for another reason then it seems like the benefits outweigh the risks. My sister is pregnant and a nurse, she was vaccinated.

The only issue that arises with the covid vaccine while pregnant is not the vaccine itself but the common side effects of a fever and flu like symptoms after either dose. The CDC doesn’t currently strongly recommend it unless you are in a risk group or a front line health care worker. It’s safe if you are nursing. I personally would probably not get it while pregnant, esp after I felt so crappy after my second dose. But it’s definitely a risk/benefits situation.

I don’t but I work with an OB nurse and Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist who both got it while pregnant. I’m sure with their education and resources they wouldn’t have if the benefits didn’t out weigh the risks
