Weight gain/loss questions!

So I had my baby last Monday...When he was born he weighed 6 pounds 10.6 ounces. When we left the hospital he weighed 6 pounds 8.4 ounces. The next day at his check up he weighed, 6 pounds 11.2 ounces. Yesterday at his weight check he weighed in at 6 pounds 11.7 ounces. This is all in a span of a week! We have another weight check in on Thursday and to see the doctor but they seem concerned and it has me freaked out. They told me to try feeding him 4 ounces but that’s a no go as he won’t take 4 ounces at one time. I’ve woke him to feed, rubbed my fingers down his spine and on his little feet to keep him awake to eat...he’ll eat anywhere between 1-2 ounces, sometimes even 3.

My biggest question here is do y’all think they’ll end up admitting him to the hospital for not gaining much weight?? I’ve never had this issue with my previous 2.

I am formula feeding, yes. I can’t breast feed due to different medications that I am on, unfortunately or I would definitely go that route!

I assumed it was normal as well for them to lose and then gain it back...I’m not to fond of the doctor that they have us seeing...his primary care doctors is our for a few weeks so I’m stuck with a different one.

Both my littles kept losing weight after birth. Thats normal the first couple weeks. Theyll just keep tracking it. My daughter was really small but they never admitted her. I started off breastfeeding but I had to formula feed too so they'd gain. But I'm assuming you are formula feeding already ? Just try to to wake baby up more. My baby now is also on a high calorie intake (more formula added to water) to help him gain. You got this

I don't see why that's concerning? Its normal for them to lose weight from birth to being discharged and the baby has been steadily gaining with each check?

My daughter was 7.14 7 when left the hospital had a follow up apt the next day they had my bf every 2 hours like set a alarm and sent me home and it took about a week then she shot up. She had a hard time waking to sometimes I'd have to undress her and touch a wetwipe to her awake and if I let her she sleep all night. I hope baby starts gaining weight just keep on it
