We are finally back to normal weather, will be above freezing Saturday. After almost 2 weeks of way below normal temps and the rolling blackouts started Sunday night, NOW he wants to send help! I think it’s a little late here but hopefully they can help Texas!

I’m not in Texas and even if I was that’s a shitty thing to say about thousands of people being subjected to extremely low temperatures and having their power shut off. Shows what type of person you are and that’s pretty sad.
And I absolutely don’t blame them for wanting to separate from the United States as it’s becoming more of a giant joke than it already had been.
@supermomof4, ok then why ask for help?? Or be upset when help is offered but not accepted? They said they would rather DIE than accept federal aide, except it’s not them dying, it’s the citizens they’re supposed to represent. It’s absolutely unreal lol and quite honestly don’t care what anyone sees as shitty. I do not feel bad for anyone who voted for representatives who privatized electrical grids and refused aide, karma sucks. Definitely feel bad for everyone who voted against it and still suffer from the absolute insanity of the Republican leaders in Texas.
Or the state and local Republican officials could have helped you guys way before now instead of lying about it being part of the green new deal, flying out to Cancun and saying Texans would rather die than accept fed regulations.
The federal government usually doesn’t provide assistance or supplies until a governor declares a state of emergency and requests the assistance. Your governor did that yesterday.
Actually he did that Friday the 12th before the storms came in. I watched the live press release of it. He declared an extended state of emergency yesterday because we did not receive the help we needed when it was most needed.
@supermomof4, I guess I should be more specific, the federal disaster/emergency declaration and request is a bit different than a local state of emergency. The federal declaration needs to be made before the feds provide assistance. That was the declaration made yesterday.
Agreed, sounds like the governers not doing their part . So NOW the president had to step in . Better late than never considering that isn’t their responsibility...
