I devoured this book in two days. Such a great read! Truly showing the strength of a woman, a mother.

Trying to get out of my reading comfort zone. Can anyone recommend books they loved?

I'm on book 13 in the Maisie Dobbs series and absolutely love the series. She's a psychologist/private investigator set in London in the early to mid 1900s. Fascinating cases and time period!

@icebergahead, not in my opinion. I do not enjoy the Lifetime channel. 😉 I also do not watch Hallmark movies.

that’s not to say I didn’t cry. Because I did!! But I mostly read crime/detective books. This was a nice change of pace, but was not “fluffy.” Real heartbreak had me crying.

@blueismycolor @iuiblessing2018 🤣I'm the opposite! I LOVE Lisa Gardner, but never heard of Karin Slaughter! Imma check her out!

Karin Slaughter is freaking amazing. Go back to the beginning and start with Blindsighted. The majority of her books are a series, but she has a few standalones. You’ll love her books!

I just read the preview on Blindsighted, DEF gonna be reading that one! 😍

Ooooh what's this one about? I feel like I kinda always end up readin the same book, just different characters. 🤣 I'm a sucker for James Patterson and anything crime/thriller-ish.

@iuiblessing2018 Not gonna lie, it TOTALLY made me cry. It was SO worth it though. To understand that world and time from an eyewitnesses point of view was.....idk...WORTH it is all I can say.

@leonardsquared, There's something special about a book that makes you show emotion.

Yes ma'am! 🙌 That's one I've actually read more than once. I freakin cry every time too, even though I knew the story. It's just that well written, you can ABSOLUTELY feel the emotion being described.

Why I Love Reading and Why I Hate Book Groups

I love to read for fun. I’m not this super deep reader who wants to only read these perfect written books with these deep characters. I want my books like my tv shows 🤣. I hate book groups because they take the fun out of reading. Who cares if people keep posting about an author you find flat or books you think are juvenile? Ma’am I will read junie b jones books when I hit a dry spell with reading. I think reading is amazing and I love to see people enjoying it especially when they are new to the book worm life. So many people just can’t get into reading so if you find something you like read it! I don’t get how people who love to read can book shame other people it’s crazy to me.
