Maybe yall don't understand but alot of us do. Also maybe you don't mind paying $800 dollars a year over bullshit and going through all that but no thank you. This is how it all starts. Nothing is wrong with tighter gun laws when innocent people are being massacred because someone is upset. How many more children would you say can be sacrificed before an intervention is implemented?

Im in Australia, we have gun control, have done since someone took a gun and massacred 20 something people. Our crime rate is NOTHING compared to the US and we don't have mass shootings in school every 5 minutes. The US needs to come into the present and come in to reality. You do not NEED a gun to protect yourself. Taking them away and putting sensible restrictions on them will not change anything other that the constant tragedy you have over there because of them. People here still have guns, we just don't go handing them out like candy.
@og.horror.mom when did I say there's no criminals here? There's plenty, there's just not people rolling around with guns at their disposal like over there. The background checks you need to go through over here to have a firearm is extensive and prevents irresponsible people, mentally unstable people, criminals etc from legally obtaining a firearm. The lengths you have to go to, to obtain an illegal firearm is just as hard. Gun control changed our culture around having a firearm and for the better. The evidence is there like I said. Do some research. There's nothing anyone can say to me to change my mind on gun laws.
@ksmommyx3 exactly my point! I didn't say nobody should have a gun, merely pointing out that change is needed like we had. Our gun culture changed so much when laws were introduced here to make obtaining a firearm a privilege, not a right. It takes a whole echelon of society out of the equation. There's just literally no shootings here, unless its criminals shooting each other or police shooting people, which is also rare. Stricter control is definitely needed, but mentality is clearly not something you can educate to change in some people.
There's plenty of people out here with no criminal backgrounds that are still dangerous people , they just haven't been caught up yet. Taking away or making it harder to obtain guns won't make a difference. Guns aren't bad , it's how they are used. Anything good can be used in a bad way. So if you're being attacked by 5 guys I hope your little can of mace or knife saves your lives. There's plenty of ways to cause chaos without guns.
It'll be another War before all the citizens give up their guns.. Against us and the government. Mark my words.
By the way for those who think guns are so bad.. Ppl can still make home made weapons or explosives.. Doesn't take rocket science. Even in areas where guns aren't allowed like London , crime rate is still high! I would rather have a gun and not need it , than to need a gun and not have it. I'll be damned if some one breaks into my home and I " wait on the cops" it only takes a second to lose your life.. During that one incident in a church where a bad guy came in and was about to kill ppl, thankfully there were armed church members that were able to defend so all of those ppl didn't have to lose their lives
