So maybe the dress WAS blue and black and now looks like this due to bleach or something?? That means the gold part WAS black and the white part WAS blue. If the dressed wasn't washed right i can definitely see how the dress came from the original colors....BUT as far as what it looks like now in this pic..especially being in the light that it's in..its looks gold and white! Maybe the black and blue dress was washed in bleach and a blue sock was in the wash machine. Black turned to mustard/gold and the darker blue turned lighter/almost white.
I believe it was the result of lighting and angle that caused this phenomenon aka illusion.
That was 2015? Wow, thought it was longer than that, lol. Strange thing, I first saw white and gold on this post, then the color changed to blue and black 😳 I'm thinking it's the color scheme in my viewing device 🤷🏿♀️

It is due to the tinting of the photo. I bet if you view the dress in person, it would not be as strange. We all see slightly different when it comes to images like this. Pretty amazing.

Blueish White and bronze gold
It’s blue and blackish. It was confirmed that the original dress this came from was a royal blue and black idk how people see other colors.
