What is everyone doing for little ones birthdays during the pandemic. I was a lame mom last year and didnt celebrate either birthday. We were going to go to lego land as a special thing for my oldests birthday bit everything closed literally the weekend we were going to go. I cant be lame 2 years in a row and my oldest is getting excited his birthday is coming up. I just dont know what to do where i can still keep people safe
We planned Lego Land last year for ds1 also and it got cancelled. I think we ended up getting McDonald's because that's what he wanted for dinner 🤣 ds2's bday is in a few weeks and we have no ideas on what to do.
For my oldest (April birthday), we had a Zoom party and got a bunch of family and friends to sing happy birthday. We made his favorite foods and still did cake and cupcakes. It was a lot more low key than normal, but we still made it a special day.
For my youngest (July birthday), we did a small family thing at my moms. I think it was 4 additional people outside our household who we were comfortable expanding our bubble to. We were mostly outside and when we had to go inside, all the windows were open.
This year we will probably do more of the same. If the weather is nice, maybe a trip to the zoo or a splash pad. Very little extra family involved and no friends.
I live in Vermont. Theres not much to go out and do. Ill have to do something here at home. Ive got time too. Theres about 6 weeks til his birthday
We are taking Vi to the aquarium. I have read Tuesday’s around 10am is the slowest time to go to the one around here. So aquarium, nuggets for lunch (as she requested), open gifts, dinner (still undecided but special take out), and cake (it’s preordered, unicorn outside, rainbow inside)
We went camping for the entire weekend and they picked where they wanted to get food from.
Just do something at home. Decorations, cake, presents, set something up in the backyard. It’s a weird year for everyone but I think your oldest is probably old enough to understand the pandemic. It sucks but there’s tons of years for birthday parties left so I personally feel ok with sitting some out. Hopefully none of his peers are having big birthday celebrations so he won’t feel like he’s missing out.
My husband took my oldest to go get ice cream from DQ. She was happy with just that.
Going to do our normal shit just like last year 🤣🤣🤣💯🥴🤷🏼♀️ probley chuckie cheese I’m guessing
I took my daughter to the aquarium for her birthday last week. They had reservations and social distanced with masks. It was different but they enjoyed themselves.
Unfortunately where I live there isn't a lot of things like that. I have to go out of state for any fun attractions
@spud, I had to do the same. We drove 2 hours. It was exhausting lol
Legoland was also our planned trip last year for her 9th birthday but we had to cancel it and that was reasonably okay.
We wanted to be safe instead and not travel to another state. There will be an abundance of other times hopefully in the future, to go. I am just thankful dd is very understanding and dh is on the same page.
Dd’s birthday is in the middle of Summer.
WE ARE ONLY celebrating with the people whom live here, and that is us 3.
We are keeping it private and simple but fun🥳
Dd does not mind it at all either.
We did this last year and going to do it again this year.
Everyone can keep their germs away😂
Play it safe and remember there will be many more birthdays. Better than no birthdays because someone brought covid to yours😱
I would not want that weighing over her or my head for years🤧 a few hours of partying is not worth the risk of death for us.
I always think of that.
We got my daughter a big bounce house for the weekend. This was back in November when it was warmer
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Science!
My friend posted this on facebook last night and said her kids were asleep within minutes. It's a song that scientists created to help people fall asleep. I was skeptical but I thought what the hay, I'll try it out. I didn't bank on Dh falling asleep, but both him and lo were asleep by minute 2. And lo slept six straight hours. ?
Starting TWW. Anyone else?
I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.

A Statement from Mom.Life:
Hey everyone!
Last night, a new user began messaging our moms asking for private pictures of toddlers and young children. This is obviously unacceptable behavior, and the account was banned immediately. Although thankfully extremely rare on Mom.Life, several users were understandably upset by this, so we wanted to clarify a few things:
First off, Mom.Life has an absolute zero tolerance policy for child abuse and those who would prey on children. We strive to ...
Renting a horse for 3 hours and ordering a cake. Only extra exposure will be the horse's owner. This will be the first year we are doing something more than just cake at home, bc it's her big 5.
