I’ve posted about my defiant toddler many times before but I’m really at a loss now. She deliberately disobeys. Like, she knows what “no” means and if she’s doing something she knows she’s not supposed to I can ask “do you want to go in timeout?” And she’ll answer “no” and SOMETIMES stop.. I can’t take her anywhere cause she refuses to listen. She runs wild, screams, throws tantrums etc. At home she’s just as bad and absolutely nothing I do or say helps. Timeout doesn’t work, hand poppings don’t work, a pop on the butt doesn’t work, I’ve tried getting down to her level and calmly explaining things or trying to make sure she knows that I understand her emotions and things like that but I’m not even kidding when I say nothing works with her. I’m constantly telling her no and even though she knows she’s going to get into trouble she will do it anyways and then cream this blood curdling scream when she does get in trouble. I’ve raided Pinterest for days, write everything down, tried everything I found... idk what else to do. Everyone keeps telling me it’s “terrible twos” or “she’s just strong willed” or that it’s normal for her age and all of that might be true but there’s gotta be some kind of something that will help me teach her to listen to me and such.
Rant! My sitter used cottonelle wet wipes on my baby! Now she has huge rash!!! I totally get that my SO forgot to put the wipes in her diaper bag. But she could have told one of us and we could have brought her some or she could have went to the store and I could pay her back. I don't get it. She buys her clothes and toys, takes her places while I'm at work. The store is literally a 5 minute walk from her house. But she decided cottonelle wipes are ok? Ugh. Rant over.
This is what happens when a littles sister doesn't listen and goes a bit bridezilla. She wants all her sisters to wear the same thing for her wedding in a few weeks. I told her "I can wear something as similar as I can make it, but being pregnant I can't wear the same exact thing. It just won't work". Then she settled on a denim shirt dress. Cute, but wouldn't work on me normally, let alone pregnant (I'm pretty tall). She said she'd just femme a bigger size to fit over the tummy. I told her the tummy would also make it even shorter. She wouldn't listen.
So idk if I’m an asshole for thinking this but a girl I used to go to school with is having her 3rd kid and she’s planning a baby shower and she had one with her other two. I feel like a baby shower is something you do with ur first pregnancy. I live far from my family so I didn’t have one but i did have a baby registry and I’m not even doing that with this pregnancy. Idk I just feel like 3 baby showers is a lot! Especially when she gets things handed to her. Idk maybe I’m an ass for thinking that
I’m genuinely trying to do this self soothing thing. She’s screaming even though she’s clean, dry and fed, her temperatures fine. She screamed for at least 10 minutes 😩😩I had to just go on about my business. It’s not easy😩😩but it had to be done

This is mind blowing.
Stop giving her money.
She needs to file for assistance.
They as a couple need to cut down and prioritize.
Stop letting people take advantage of you.

Does her husband know you’re giving her money....? Please stop. There’s no reason for her to work when you and her husband both support her. You should be on their next Christmas card. You should get to claim her as a dependent 😂

no she doesnt want him to know but she was there for me during my pregnancy so i often feel obligated.

I really think she is taking advantage of you. Did she give you $400/month while you were pregnant or just offer emotional support?? You do not owe anyone(besides your children) anything.

I get that one hand washes the other kinda thing she helped you and you are returning the favor but it’s not in her best interest she isn’t really trying to work the excuses are coming to easy for her without actually getting a job to see how she can work it out around her husband schedule so they won’t have to pay child care

yeah my mom thinks so to. She offered emotional support which I really needed but you’re right I don’t owe her anything. I told her today that I can’t do it anymore she wasn’t happy about it but she understands

if you feel like you owe her something..... it does not mean monetary. Get what you give. I’m proud of you for saying that to her!!!! Good job, don’t let her manipulate you again.
