It sounds like they tried to send the funds and they were refused. You may have to get them when you file your taxes. :(

I always wait way too long. Like I get the extension and file two days before it's due. I am terrible about it. You should file as soon as you can.

I do the same thing but only when I’m getting a refund. This way I have extra money for Christmas shopping LOL

Sounds like they sent it to your bank account on file but it must be closed so it was sent back? Call them and see if they’ll mail a check to your address if not file it on your taxes.

I don’t know how you file your taxes, but there was a situation with Turbo Tax & H&R Block. If you paid your tax preparation fees with your refund, meaning they took the fee out of the money before you received your refund for 2019, there was an issue. The IRS sent people’s stimulus money to these companies holding accounts. Hence the “third party bank.” These companies had to send the money back to the IRS, so they could try to send them to the people this time. I have NO idea if this actually applies to your situation.

yes, this issue did not happen the first time. It was the IRS’s fault from what I understand. But they are trying to fix it.
