We watched 9/11 happen but I was in 6th grade.

3rd grade is definitely a little young.

I watched it in 9th grade. I just wasn’t prepared for how to calm her down

I was a 4th grader when it happened. I remember watching the news and seeing “paper” flying out of the windows. I was so confused it wasn’t until years later that I realized the paper was people jumping to their death because they didn’t want to burn or be crushed. 😢😢😢

Take it as an opportunity to clear up any questions your child has and gauge how much they understand/think they understand. Stress the importance of doing your research so that you don't believe everything you hear and wind up scaring/hurting others in the process.

Personally, I wouldn't mind it, but I can understand not wanting my child exposed to conspiracy theorists losing their shit when my child should be learning lol.

My brother's class watched the tail end of the Oka Crisis in class live, but he was like in 4th or 5th grade. Not sure how my mom would've reacted if he was in 3rd grade.
