My SIL and MIL got it as they both work in hospitals.
I personally am not getting it. My grandparents & my 98 year old mamaw plus my MIL are though (if she can since she's immunocompromised).
We will be getting it as soon as it’s available for us. I was planning to wait. But i know a lot of people who’ve had it already and I’m comfortable getting it now when our time comes.
Guys I just took the vaccine I do have a headache and felt a little dizzy
@ai.ariel ugh hopefully just your body's response to it.
My mom got it last week and feels great. She is a nurse so they all got it at the hospital.
@ai.ariel, he doesn’t, but I’m definitely looking out for any reactions 😬
@ai.ariel, @jenx, our family has never had great reactions to the flu vaccine or anything. I just have to wait until I have enough paid time off just in case.
Oh, I gotcha. I have a cousin like that. She has unusual reactions to all sorts of things. She's an RN midwife and doula, so she will be getting the vaccine with her epi pen right there.
@jenx, my cousin is an RN and currently in the Covid tent outside the hospital. She was definitely excited to get hers and said it’s worth it. My savings has been depleted during the pandemic so I can’t risk taking time off.
I’m in group 1b because of my job, so I will be getting it as soon as it is offered.
I lost a great-aunt to COVID, so I feel like I owe it to her and the rest of the vulnerable folks out there to do my part in building herd immunity and stopping the spread.
My cousin got it and is super sick and has been for over a week. I am in group 1a but I’m waiting to get it. Honestly I’m waiting because I can’t afford to not go to work if I hate sick because of it.
What are her symptoms? This vaccine doesn't even contain an entire deactivated virus, so it literally can't make you sick. She must have been coming down with something already. There is a lot going around right now. :( But yesterday was the deadliest day yet from covid.
@jenx, I was going to ask as well. I have read allergies but that is a given.
It hasn't been offered to my group yet, we aren't front line/essential. I will take it the second they offer it to me.
My MIL had the first dose last week and is fine. Her next dose is Jan 20th.
@icebergahead, yes it does and that’s why I was worried but I’m gonna take it now
