Hey ladies! We are ttc and have done 2 cycles of letrozole with trigger shots. This month none of my follicles are big enough to trigger to go into IUI. My egg count is also really low. I go back on Wednesday to recheck follicles but my doctor suggested today that if this round doesn't take, we should consider IVF. Has anyone done IVF? Can anyone give me advice on what to expect? How long does it take? All of the ins and outs? Etc? Thanks!

I have no personal experience with IVF, but I’ve heard from many close friends it is a long process. I do also know the egg retrieval surgery can be hard on the women, and it has its risks.
Can I ask why they say your egg count is low? I know the hormone levels are an indicator but it’s not always as simple as low numbers low egg count.

I have endometriosis and PCOS. We were referred to a fertility specialist by my OBGYN and the specialist ran a ton of tests. I had an HSG, biopsy, all sorts of blood work, sonogram, etc. When I went in to go over my results all I really understood was that they tested my egg count and for my age (33), my egg count was about 1/3 of what other women my age have. She said my egg count came back as 0.3 when it should be over a 1. I asked what that meant in terms of how many eggs and she said they couldn't determine that, only that the counts were coming back really low? I'm not sure how they do that testing or what determines that. I'm just going off of what I was told. She also said for my age, my egg quality should be really good, but my quantity is very low.
My husband wants to finish out this IUI cycle and go to IVF next round and I'm just trying to get a handle on what to expect. Little nervous. Thank you for responding.
