🎉Traditions from Around the World To Do With Your Kids On NYE💫

🎉Traditions from Around the World To Do With Your Kids On NYE💫

•Eat black eyed peas on New Year’s Day (a Southern tradition).

•Eat 12 grapes at midnight – one at each bell strike – for the year’s prosperity (Spanish tradition).

•Make little piggies out of Marzipan to give away (German tradition).

•At exactly midnight, step forward with your right foot to start the year off… right (Argentina).

Stand on a chair and jump down from it as the clock strikes midnight (Denmark tradition).

🥳Some of these are new to me but what are yours?

( I do not recall actually having a set tradition for NYE with our family)

On new years day we eat black eyed peas and cabbage with our meal...usually corned beef for the meat. New years Eve we would always stay up and watch the ball drop, as kids we'd shoot fireworks (we grew up in the country)

That is what my dh was telling me. He grew up eating black eyed peas. Interesting.

@icebergahead black eyed peas are for luck and cabbage for wealth, I think we have one more but can't remember right now

Any families here hosting a virtual party? That sounds like fun as well.

We don’t have any. Throughout the years we’ve had many times we celebrated but it’s been pretty chill the last few. I plan on throwing a little party for my girls this year. I grabbed some party supplies and fairy lights for the trampoline. I’m making balloons inside a big balloon to pop inside the trampoline at midnight. I have a menu to print and I grabbed sparkling cider.

We are going to do a time capsule this year, write about what this year has meant to us, what we hope the new year brings, and then seal it up for next NYE.

Omg we are as well!!! I printed some cool stuff and we will be making noise makers🥳

I have an old oats container, perfect for the capsule.

We have a hat book and will be useful for NYE😂

It was published in 1993.

When I was a kid, we’d always go to our front porch right after the ball dropped & beat pots & pans & yell ‘Happy new year’ at the top of our lungs. I’m sure our neighbors loved us. Regardless, that’s what we do every year still. My oldest has been talking about it for weeks. Hahah

We play board games and eat snacks until midnight. When it’s time for the ball to drop we all stand around the tv together and watch then toast the new year with sparkling grape juice.

I want to actually use a piece of toasted bread to “toast” the new year lol.

Goofy yes, memorable? Maybe🥳

Family tradition in the works🍞

I find it amusing how some people are so quick to come on your post to tell you that your method is wrong. If what you do works for you than cudos. There is no need to get in a tight about somebody else post. If there post doesn't apply to you than just keep it moving. I am 36 yo and do not have time for hormonal women who's lacking attention from home and need someone to take it out on. Take your personal problem up with the right somebody!
