Anyones doctor ever prescribed your kids Clonidine to help them sleep!?
My sons only 4 and when i looked it up it was talking about high blood pressure and used for adhd . ? She never even told me she sent it until i went to get his asthma medication.

That's what I thought. My step son is in that medication and it works amazing with him. He uses it for his adhd but I figured if she sent something over she would at least call or email me to discuss what she sent over and what would be a good fit for him. I dont want it to affect his asthma not give him worse nightmares than he already has.

Pharmacy tech here. Clonidine can be used for sleep yes. It also has other uses as well. My daughter whom is 4 was prescribed it but she has terrible side effects including nightmares so we took her off it.
However id call your sons pediatrician. However it can be used for sleep!

@k.d.c.mamma It may not cause him to have nightmares. Its different with every person I would just speak with his pediatrician and you can try it and see how it works.

@inkedoutmomma16 I'm gonna speak with her if I can get a chance. I hate how they did the new stuff in the office. But I just thought it was werid. I even have my chart and nothing was in there.

Do your kids have adhd and take them for sleep, since it was talking about using it for them or are they just taking them to help them sleep. Idk. Something just seems off about it.

I would never recommend giving a prescription that the doctor did not discuss with you in depth.

@k.d.c.mamma, before trying a prescription with serious side effects I recommend aromatherapy. Diffuse Roman chamomile and lavender starting the hour before bed. Chamomile tea. Lavender and coconut oil on the bottom of his feet. You could even use melatonin.

@monstermommax3 can he drink those teas? I thought they were for adults. Lol and we've done melatonin hes having effects from it the next day. Hes more aggressive and emotional and refuses to listen or do anything more than he normally does with his toddler self. That's why I've asked the doctors for something else to help him because I refused to give it to him. I'd rather fight for 2 hours than to give him something that affects him like that.

@k.d.c.mamma, I mean chamomile is safe. I’ve just seen some side effects of clonidine at work. I would exhaust every other option before using a prescription.

is it wrong to be frustrated that my daughter acts like she can't do certain things with out my help. she plays dumb a lot and I wish I could be like no girl show what you know. she acts like she can't trace or match shapes so shes ask for "mommy finger" to help her so I barely hold her hand and she magically can do it but if I dont hold her hand she just scribbles and acts like she doesnt know the pic is how she traces when I'm "helping her" otherwise it'll just be scribbles all over the page
I just absolutely love some women on here! Some woman wants to write on another women's post telling her she shouldn't be having sex at all in the beginning of pregnancy. I didn't know she was her doctor. Then she wants to tell me that the first trimester is only 1-9 weeks pregnant. And she lost her baby at 4 weeks pregnant due to sex. Like sweetie that's your period starting!
Dad's FB Video!! Did anyone see that video a dad posted on his daughters FB page? He saw a post she made where she bashed her parents and cursed them, called them lazy and told them they should pay her for stuff she did around the house... So he called her out on it and put the video on her page!! Sorry if I missed a post already about this already, but I just saw the video and IT WAS AWESOME!!! Hahahhaa!

Not clonidine but my 5 year old with ADHD is on guanfacine which was originally a blood pressure medication that can be used for adhd. Weird that your child’s pediatrician didn’t discuss it with you first.
