Yes they do offer a flu vaccine that’s egg free. It’s a special order and has three times the amount of vaccine compared to the regular flu shot and can be only 30-50% effective because it’s based on potential flu strains coming. No thank you.

I think the reason so many are saying no to the vaccine right now is simply lack of information and testing. This is what happens when you put out a vaccine as quickly as they have with bare minimum testing. I’m not anti vaxx at all, but I’m an honest skeptic because of the use of egg in certain vaccines and my intense egg allergy. I can’t even eat a pancake at IHOP for crying out loud without needing a Benadryl shot and possibly an epi pen so I’m on alert with this vaccine. I can’t help it, I want to live through this like everyone else without dying trying to get vaccinated for it. While there are going to be a lot of people down right refusing, a lot of people will change their tune once they see that it actually works and the side effects are minimal like the vaccines we are used to.

@fairykarmamomma, sure. I understand trepidation. I think they’ve encountered 2 allergic reactions and while I don’t know how many have been vaccinated so far I think it’s safe to say there will be people who are allergic to this just like any vaccine. I understand why you would be nervous since the exact allergies are not yet identified. I do wish there was long term data available, however there is also no long term data on COVID. Either choice is a risk but I feel like only one risk has the potential to help us gain some ground on this thing

To me it’s a sign that more testing needs to be done, while we need the vaccine badly, we need one that everyone in the population can take. The fact that this is happening to health care workers after the first day of vaccinations is alarming

@fairykarmamomma oh there's no doubt that it was rushed and there needs to be a significant amount of testing in the years to come. Honestly in our country's case though we're damned if we do and damned if we don't I feel like since the pandemic had been handled so poorly from the beginning

It was actually suggested by Zay’s primary doctor and my allergist so we both have a set of 6.

@fairykarmamomma the amount of times my throat has swelled after eating. Last time it was a hot sauce, didn't know it had pineapple.

@bodybycheetos, I’d bring that to my doctors attention. The only thing is we had to fight insurance to pay almost $2000 for both sets. A set of 6 is $960

We don’t do the flu shot obviously. I had hope for this vaccine because this is showing as deadlier than the flu so I had an ounce of hope that this might be more friendly than the flu shot.

The other thing is, this virus is still mutating and will do so every year like the flu shot. Right now they will need to create a new vaccine every year. Like the flu shot, it could turn into 30-50% effective rates. I dunno what to think. I watch for now

People don’t think about those of us who have no choice but to not have certain vaccines. We don’t want complications, we don’t want to die. We want to thrive like everyone else. That’s why I put emphasis on wearing a mask and it’s not always about you. We can be a very selfish society compared to others, it’s sad.

Not allergic to latex that I know of. I’m trying to think, when has he been exposed to latex 🤔
