Question for those you had COVID!
My husband bosses tested positive. They quarantine for about 12 Days, today the boss is back at work. My husband asked them if they retested before returning to the office and they said No because they will test continue to test positive for about 90 days. <—— is this true???
I thought they had to quarantine for 15days and retest again. I’m freaking out for my husband and my kids.
Well, my aunt tested positive for it on 10/29 and finally tested negative on 11/22. She had mild symptoms but she’s high risk due to asthma. So it’s not just that couple of weeks, it could be 3 weeks to a few months and it all depends on the person and level of infection.
Yikes 90 days really? I tested positive 2 weeks ago and I quarantined for 2 weeks. I went again today to get tested because I want to see if it’s negative. I guess it won’t be. I work from home so I don’t need a negative test but I wanted to do it since I have to take my kids to and from school. A friend of mine had it and it took her 6 weeks to test negative but she had pneumonia.
Yes this is true, all my kids and me and my husband all have had Covid. We were told we did not have to be tested again for negative because it can give you a positive up to 90 days. My husbands job didn’t require him to retest he just had to quarantine for 14 days which lasted a month of quarantine because every time one of the kids got sick our quarantine time got pushed back even further (my oldest got sick first, then my youngest, then my middle son then my husband then me) but he did his quarantine and they made sure he had absolutely no more symptoms before returning back to work.
Thank you ladies, I’m not sure if his boss have any symptoms but his wife who also got tested with him was negative however she’s back in the office Coughing Non-stop. Ohhhh & they don’t wear Mask! I’m just so over this !
Wow I haven't heard one place saying masks aren't required! She might need to be tested again depending when she was exposed.
Yikes. Since she’s a close contact, she should still be quarantining. If you live in the same household as someone who tests positive, then you have to quarantine for 14 days beyond the positive person’s day 10 after symptoms started. I know that’s confusing, but it’s a total of 24 days of quarantine if someone in your house is positive. She should not be back in the office!!!
@ekko, this! My boss had to quarantine much longer than her husband who was positive as she “symptom watched” to see if she would get sick.
My co worker had covid. She tested positive 3 days after her mom was tested positive. She tested the same day as her mom and was negative. Started showing symptoms and retested positive.
Our playbook at work requires us to retest negative before returning. Our health department says you have to be symptom free for 24 hours before retesting.
I believe the CDC is going to change the quarantine time from 14 days to 7-10.
I think each place of employment has their own rules and regulations no one really knows what to do.
I would hope if they are still sick they would stay home even if their time is up.
My job also told me if I was to test positive I had to quarantine and test negative to return .
If he isn’t having any more symptoms then the quarantine ends after 10 days from the onset of symptoms. He does not need to be tested again. Not sure about the continuation of testing positive, but if he’s not having any symptoms then his quarantine is over.
I think retesting depends on the company. I did read you can test positive weeks after your 14 days are up though.
We never had it here but the people I do know who had it none of them had to be retested. I think it’s weird my sister had it and her boyfriend didn’t have to get tested they told him stay home a week and then he could go back to work and he worked at a grocery store 🤦🏾♀️.
His boss tested positive and the wider negative. However they returned today and the boss wife is know coughing non stop & they refuse to wear mask.
@l.yesi, I don’t get why people won’t just put the mask on. I hate the mask I really do but I wear them.
Thats what the health department told me too! That there wasn't any need to retest as I could be positive for 90 days.

Went in for my 20 week check up and found out our son had passed away. Nothing was wrong, my pregnancy has been going great. I'm so numb right now. I'll he delivering him later this week. I don't want to do this. I don't want to do this. Not before Christmas. How am I'm going to tell my kids?? My dear sweet baby boy. Why did this happen?
You can test positive for up to 90 days or even longer they say.
