Interesting, isn't taking and selling newborns, or anyone, illegal? That's trafficking... no? I feel like tricking or coercing impressionable mothers to give up their children for adoption sounds illegal, but isn't 🤷🏿♀️
@squishymommy1 I don't think the US is perfect, but I always hate when people talk bad about the US and ignore other first world countries doing similar things. I mean people from different countries speaking badly about the US. They love to praise Canada too, Canada always gets labeled as "goodly"
The "sixties scoop" it was called? That's kidnapping, smh, terrible. Idk if they are still doing it, but nothing is surprising these days
in the US it was called “the baby scoop era” it basically lasted until the late 70’s. There’s a book about it. Called “The Girls who went away” I don’t know what they called it in Canada but it was really only the indigenous and First Nation children who they did that too and then adopted them out solely to white Christian families. The baby scoop era in the Us was basically all women who got pregnant unintendedly (that’s not really a word I don’t think 😂) in the US. But Ireland, England and most European countries were doing the same thing.
