My LO is 2.8 and still has his bars on his cot bed. I'm thinking xmas time I will take them off he has only tried to climb over once.
But am thinking do I take the sides off, get a single bed, or put a mattress on the floor (Montessori style)?
We just too the sides off. Theo was around 2 and a half, he was fine. Only fell out once and the drop is so small he didn't even wake.

So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. The boys had a cot bed so took the sides off & had it against the wall. It was like an inch from the floor so when they did roll out they never even woke 😂 They were both under 2 when they transitioned & wasn't in it long before we just bought them normal single beds.
