Anyone here have CDL or husband have it ? My cousin was caught answering his phone and got stopped by a cop he asked for a break since all he said was I’ll call you back then hung up but the cop seen his phone light go on and stopped him. The cop told him the company will be notified and hopefully they like him if not he’s losing his job, he was driving a class B at the time ( box truck)

My dad is a semi driver, as the previous 2 comments stated the cops is in the right here, I also second a bluetooth headset, my dad has one and without it, we dont talk to him.
Hubs has his CDL also and yeah, cop is in the right. Have him get a bluetooth headset. They're essential, believe me.
My FIL does and the cop is right. There is a chance he could be let go from the company. Truck drivers needs to have their attention on the road at all times. While your cousin might have been just calling to ask for a break, the cop doesn’t know that.
He wasn't calling for a break. He asked the cop to cut him a break and not make a big deal of the quick call.

Yup hubs has had his for a few years. Cop is in the right. Even driving with a regular license you would still get pulled over for being on your phone.
Pretty sure he won’t lose his job over that. Now if he were to get a DUI then that’s different. Hubs work is pretty strict on that.
