So my 1 year old won’t eat anything besides gerber😭 he only takes two bottles during the day and like 5 at night🙆🏼‍♀️ I feel like he eats so much at night because he gets hungry from just eating gerbers.. any suggestions?? I have tried literally everything and nothing works 🤦🏼‍♀️

Girl do away with the baby food. My little dude at 10 months eats three full meals and three snacks. He eats whatever we are eating. Currently in a similar situation with bottles (he only gets two at night and one before bed). We are increasing what he is getting before bed, we added a snack and sippy cup of milk before bed. And we’ve been cutting back the number of ounces he gets in each bottle. Right now he gets a total of 6 ounces overnight.

Maybe mix cereal with the bottle make it thicker that’s what I do they slept all night... at that age mine was already eating our food at 6 mths

That’s an aspiration hazard.

My son eating 3 of the Gerber meals a day after each meal i give him a bottle in between he eats snacks like fruit, crackers, and cheese . Before bed ill give him a gogo squeez pouch and offer crakers and give him a bottle. He use to wake up at night every few hours for a bottle too but nooo 🥴 girl i had to change that .

So he’s waking up 5 times a night? He shouldn’t need a bottle each time he wakes up. Sounds like you need to do some sleep training. I’d say 1 bottle during the night is fair and the other times he wakes up you’ll have to put him back to sleep without it. During the day increase his food intake. Sit him down with you at mealtimes and let him try food off your plate. Toddlers usually eat more when they eat their parents food. Even now my son sits with his dad at breakfast and eats half his plate. Give him the bottle after meals as his dessert.

I hope he transitions easily for you but you might have a tough weekish ahead of you! Stay strong, you can do it!

I’d cut out bottles all together! Get him drinking from a sippy during the day & I’d probably stop with baby food purées . Give him table food. If youre eating it, he can too, in most cases. Just cut it up into little pieces.

You will have several hard nights while adjusting to no bottles but you’ve got to stop those nighttime feedings. If he has any teeth yet, not brushing them after every bottle through the night is going to make them rot too from letting the milk sit on them all night.

Oh and I also suggest getting a diff baby food, I don’t know much about the gerber ones but I fed my youngest love child pouches (when I wasn’t making my own baby food that is) and they are made with quinoa as well as whatever fruits and veggies which is filling and healthy.

Stop feeding him at night, at 1 it’s unnecessary no more night feeds. I know it’ll be hard but it’s time to break it. Once you cut the night feeds he will probably eat more food in the day.

@mommy2.10, my youngest was the same (but breast) I had to let him cry it out... after a couple nights he went to bed easy like he didn’t even remember. When I say cry it out I didn’t make him cry until he fell asleep but first I let him cry 5 min went in pat his back calm him down for 1 min then left for 6 min went back for 1 left for 7 min etc 10 min was the max I left him to cry
