Any mamas had an emergency csection and now this time or the second time you were awake? I’m having so much anxiety about delivering this baby and having to be awake ☹️ I know I shouldn’t be I know it’ll all be fine just like the first time I’m just nervous asf
How did y’all’s second csection go?

I had an emergency c section and was awake..
You weren’t awake for your first? That sounds scarier in my opinion!

It was an emergency csection... they were literally about to have me push! my legs were up and everything when they called it.. 😳😳 I woke up about an hour later or so and had them asking me if I wanted to see baby. I was so out of it but it was the best moment! 😍

oh wow! That’s crazy!
But yeah being awake isn’t terrible but I’m a bad reference. Mine was emergency and they didn’t even have time for the meds to kick in so I felt the first cut. But I’m sure a planned fully medicated one will be easy! You got this!!!

omg 😱 that’s scary! I need to know it all tho! I think 😂 maybe if I know the good and the bad I won’t be so nervous 😩

I had a planned c section but I was awake. I agree with 👆🏻 being asleep seems way scarier.

I guess since I went threw it asleep first I’m more comfortable than the thought of being awake 🥴

lol it’s not bad at all

My first was an emergency c section due to she pooped in the sack
My second one my dr was gonna let me have her natural but then when I got baby's estimated weight I decided to do c section . Both times I was awake

My first was an emergency and I was awake, my second and third were planned and it was honestly an amazing experience. I loved knowing when they (should have) been coming and being able to prepare. It didn't hurt, a peaceful and happy environment and it was an awesome being able to see them coming out (reflected on operating lights) and seeing them for the first time. My fourth is also a planned c section.

They can give you meds to help calm you. I couldn't imagine getting put to sleep! You just feel pressure and your focused on getting to see your Baby, we kept our 4th's gender a surprise so I was like what is it?! And didn't even pay attention to most of it. On my first, they asked if I wanted meds to relax and let me doze off. The second time I didnt want them.

Typically they only put you under in extreme cases.
With my second c section, I was a little more aware of what was happening. But everything went fine. It’s actually pretty great that you are awake because you see the baby as soon as they are out and they talk you through everything.

I was awake for all 3 of mine and I wouldn't want it any other way. I didn't feel any pain. I was anxious of course, but nothing mattered more than me being able to see my babies being born, and being the first one to hold them. I nursed my babies on the operating table while they were still doing the surgery and we were able to do skin to skin immediately.

I had 2 c-sections and was awake for both of them. No way I would let them put me to sleep and miss the birth of my babies. It’s such a fast procedure and you’re numb from the waist down. The worst part is getting the epidural or spinal. My first was an epidural since I was hoping to push her out. My second was a spinal and I wanted to die. It didn’t work and the anesthesiologist was so mad at me and telling me I’m not supposed to feel pain. He kept threatening to put me to sleep 😭 I could still feel my contractions and it was excruciating. After waiting 20 mins for it to work he had to sit me up to do it a 2nd time 😩😩😩 Then we waited another 20 minutes and finally I was numb. Apparently I have a high tolerance. He said normally it works in less than a minute. Needless to say I’m done having kids.

I was awake during my emergency csection, I liked being able to see the baby when she was born, I think if having planned one would be better then an emergency

I had an unplanned c-section, not technically an emergency, since mine and my daughter's vitals were good. But she was stuck in my pelvis due to inheriting my hubby's ginormous head.
I was awake during the entire thing, but I did fight to stay awake since I was so exhausted from being in labor for 36 hours, before I agreed to have a c section. But I kept willing myself to stay awake because, I ttc for 7 long years and I knew that my daughter would be my one and only child and I didn't want to miss a moment of her birth if I could possibly help it.
I loved hearing my baby's first cry and holding her for the first time when they placed her on my chest while the doctors sewed me back up.
