Anyone know what the average cost for male vasectomy without insurance? And where would i go and ask?
My husband saw a urologist to get it done. Our insurance covered it so I’m not sure how much it costs but I know they billed $500 just for the consultation appointment. You can look up urologists in your area and ask. Maybe they have a payment plan or something.
@2sweetie, i looked it up on google and it says the average cost is $1000. Totally worth it in my opinion. 🤷🏻♀️ I’ll have to start calling and get some prices.

I asked about getting mine done. I’m not old enough (27 here) I’m not married (would need spousal permission) and my loss apparently makes them unsure of my decision.
@kellynicole, honestly it pissed me off to no end. My cervix had to be stitched shut, but I’m not old enough to decide I never want that again? 🙄

Here it’s hard if your young. When I was your age I had 3 kids already and wanted it and they wouldn’t do it instead suggested Mirena. I was 10000% sure I was done, as I got older my mind did change so I understand why they refuse to. Not trying to change your mind lol. They were willing to when I was 30 and had 4 children.
All my doctors told me I had to have either two or more kids or turn 40 before they’d be willing to discuss it with me. It sucks, I think we as women should have the right to choose when to tie our tubes.
Here you have to be 25+ with at least two kids and one of each gender, with your husbands permission. How fucked up is that. Yet a man can walk in and be like snip my balls and they’ll do it. I was thinking of doing it but my husband said he’s gonna do the vasectomy anyway, if the insurance covers it.
What does gender have anything to do with it!?? 😱 That’s crazy! I can’t believe that’s even legal. Not everyone desires to have one of each gender.
@2sweetie, my husband got a vasectomy after our son was born and it was covered by insurance. We met our deductible because of the birth so we paid like $85 total for the procedure 👏 Good thing, because just for the consultation it would’ve been $500 😳
