I have worked for a few since high school and why I became a stay at home mom is because I have seen kids not treated right. Just because it look nice doesn't mean it is when you walk out
There’s a daycare in my area that is the nicest looking, very upscale, that made the news last year. The teachers were threatening the kids that they were going to duct tape their mouths and put them in the closet with a scary clown. There was more that they were doing, and it is just so dang disturbing.
Because when I was little I was in one and the bitch who ran it was mean to me and made me sit in a chair in the middle of the kitchen for no reason for hours. I remember actually running away from it and trying to walk home and they never told my mom.
I worked at one in my HS/early college days so that ruined it for me. It was a highly rated one too which makes it worse.
Because a lot don’t have camera’s they don’t do background checks and they hire any and everyone no thanks ...I worked in one what a shit show 🤦♀️🤣

I feel sorry for those daycares and they make it bad for the good ones
Ok ladies I just asked cause I feel like people assume daycare staff has no training and we are some fly by nights lol which is not the case
They don’t require that training around here. As @flamingfiremom said, all they need is first aid & CPR training. My friend just got approved to be a state daycare & her living situation is disgusting & unkept. I love her but she’s disgusting. And she passed a home inspection to keep up to 10 kids. Not to mention she has hazardous outlets & things.
They do not expect much from daycares most places. They’re all pretty sketch!!

My kids were and are in daycares and we never had any issues. Home daycare from 6 weeks to 4 years then a daycare/preschool from 4 till Kinder.
@mamaof2soon, well, just time? The home daycare was recommended by a friend that I trusted. Between the 2 kids, we were there 8 years. My kids love her and we’re still close! The center.....they were 4 when each started there. There was a lot of teacher turnover but I knew they were safe. Both of us work full time with no family close. We had few options.
No one is going to take care of my kids the way I do or how I would like it to be done . So with that said if I need someone to watch my girls it’s family that’s it
Plus I’ll be extremely sad if I miss a major milestone
Will your family do everything the same way you do it?
@mamaof2soon, I absolutely trust my family they try to follow our example and do things as close to the way we do as possible
I've seen way too many awful things (though media) happen to make me never ever wanna put my kids in one.
Also, theres only a select few people I trust to watch my kids and it definitely isnt gonna some rando.
@mamaof2soon, that’s wrong u actually don’t have to have a degree or go to school for that 😑😂 I have plenty of friends and even my mom worked at a daycare and never even got her diploma in hs lol idk wat state u live in Bt where I’m at all u need is cpr+first aid and finger print clearance card lol n I cn get that all for under 150$
@flamingfiremom, well where I live we need some college(working toward a and or Deagree already and we go to monthly training )
I just don’t trust other people with my kids, period. Lol

@mamaof2soon, no. I don’t even trust people I know & love. I’m never at peace when my kids are with anyone but my husband and or I.
Personally I’ve heard of way too many stories of kids getting molested, rapped or hit. I also wouldn’t want my child getting sick too constantly which at daycares it’s just how it is but that’s just me. 🤷♀️
