The response I got from letting my landlord know this is the second mouse I’ve had in my apartment in a couple weeks.
That last sentence really rubbed me wrong. For one, I have a clean apartment, I don’t leave food out. Two, it’s fall so mice are looking for warmth, they’re not coming into my apartment because it’s ‘dirty’. Three, I don’t believe that it’s a “first for this building”. Ugh this whole email just made me feel like she thinks I don’t clean or something.
Maybe I’m over reacting. I don’t care though.
Yeah, she's making light of it. Mice are gross, they make a huge mess, and it isn't cool. And you're right, you don't have to have a dirty place, they're little opportunists.
She's being a really nice jerk.
Never a first for any building lol mice can squeeze their way in anywhere. Check your laws I know from experience here it is landlords responsibility to pay to have them removed, the only way it is not is if the mice being their is your fault like you were hoarding for example which may be why she made the comment about food because she may try and act like it’s your fault. Leaving food out isn’t enough here to make it your responsibility here you need to basically have turned your unit into a dumpster for it to be tenants responsibility. My husband has a friend that is an exterminator and when we had a mouse he told us if you’ve seen one there’s at least 20 more.
@kellynicole, ya they breed like crazyyyy, I wouldn’t say you have 20 in your unit if its clean but they can def access it. When I was renting I had them behind the dishwasher we never found them during the day or saw them or even heard them for that matter other then dead in the trap when we put them out after I discovered the dog kibble bag had tiny holes chewed in the bottom. I keep my house super clean and I found mouse shit under the stove I wanted to move immediately. When we did end up moving we had 99% of our stuff out for almost a week and I went back to the house to get the last few things and there was mouse shit all over the counters in the kitchen like they must of taken over when we left 🤮
@mimixtmn, I still have yet to find droppings..... and I wonder if that’s where they are 🤦🏻♀️
@kellynicole, they must like behind the stove because when I moved it there was already a trap landlord also claimed mice had NEVER been there smh
This sounds condescending. I really don't know how mice work, do they chew through the house surface? Whether they made the hole and climbed through, or the hole was already there, it needs to be patched. The first time the whole entire building had a complaint of mice... ok, smh. I would like you to send someone and scour the apartment for their access point(s) and plug it, Kelly, and yes, bring traps.
She's outta pocket to either assume that you leave food out, or that you don't know to not leave food out. Also, I've seen many places that are gross and there's no mice... because they don't have any way to get in... so, the food being out is not tne root of the problem. smh
She’s being a bitch and needs to send an exterminator. One there is one mouse there are many.
@shannwoww83, yeah that’s the thing I don’t like about it
Mice can multiply like crazy I just found 6 babies in my garden dresser on my back porch we happen to keep the dog food out there currently because they were staying in the garage eating it actually found a nest in the toy box inside an airplane, the mother died since we ending up getting some bait she ate it and died I felt bad for the 6 babies but at the same time I'm glad I found them because they would have moved around the house I took them to the field by our house but the can have babies about every 3 weeks so it's a no for me also
@kellynicole just looked found another one it looks like a baby that was hiding or something got missed with the other 6 like wow 7 babies
@lifewithlynnieandwill88 Me too. I learned the hard way it is better to be proactive than clean your whole darn pantry out. Little jerks! And if you see one, there's 3 or 4 more.
@jenx right. My granny used to get them and if she didn't keep traps out they'd be everywhere. They have a smell to them that I recognize immediately lol her home is literally built on a very thin amount of concrete so it's practically on the ground, easy access for a mouse.
Sounds very sarcastic to me when she says "what would you like me to do? Would you like us to set a few traps in your unit". As if you wouldn't know how to set up a trap.
And you want them in your unit breathing their germs on all your stuff.
I think as a landlord it’s not really her responsibility unless it’s a out of hand issue. A mouse or two is normal for anywhere just as if you had some flys or gnats or a few spiders lol I would just set up a trap and if you think they are multiplying and nesting then reach out for help
I wasn’t reaching out expecting her to call an exterminator for two mice I was only letting her know it’s the second one I’ve had. I think they’re crawling under my entry door. So if anything, maybe she should consider adding something to the bottom of the first floor entry doors to avoid it happening to the other units.
I don’t think it’s rude. It’s a common thing to say. Especially during this time. When I moved into my house in the country years ago come fall time my boyfriend would tell me that all the time. “Don’t leave food out it attracts the mice”
How exactly does it attract them though? My apartment is not on ground level there’s a raised basement they would have to come up through. Unless they can smell a sandwich on the counter from outside...
@kellynicole, maybe it’s like ratatouille... one mouse tells all his mouse friends.
But honestly I’m not sure. Maybe it gives them a reason to stay once they are already in?
@jellybeans33, yeah that’s what I’m thinking too! Cause they mainly come in for the warmth but the food is a bonus
Yeah, she's making light of it. Mice are gross, they make a huge mess, and it isn't cool. And you're right, you don't have to have a dirty place, they're little opportunists.
She's being a really nice jerk.
Yeah I think she was trying to be funny 😑 mice are nasty.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Science!
My friend posted this on facebook last night and said her kids were asleep within minutes. It's a song that scientists created to help people fall asleep. I was skeptical but I thought what the hay, I'll try it out. I didn't bank on Dh falling asleep, but both him and lo were asleep by minute 2. And lo slept six straight hours. ?
Starting TWW. Anyone else?
I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.
the amount of women who are clueless about their own anatomy is so sad and shocking. a lot of the women are older than me and have more children then I do 😳
now I understand that everyone has their own opinion on the topic and grown adults can do whatever they want with their bodies but to deny facts and make up false statements about your own anatomy when it comes to your unborn child is just so disappointing.

This whole email is passive aggressive..a mouse how cute? Why the fuck would that be cute? Mice are dirty and carry germs, bite cords and walls etc. Straight up tell her what you said to take it out of the rent because it's not cute 🙄
