They help themselves unless its something they need help with. I'd never leave the kitchen if I were getting them each snacks all day long on top of cooking breakfast lunch and dinner!

My kitchen has a gate up so my kid has to ask. Depending what it is I’ll give her it. I just don’t like her wanting only fruit snacks all day.

They help themselves...but always bring me whatever they’ve grabbed to ask if it’s an okay snack for the time. Lol So, kind of both.

They usually ask, but they ask for anything and everything. They help themselves.

She asks but also has a snack bin in the pantry so that she picks out what she is in the mood for.

Both. She has a drawer that she can help herself to in the pantry. It has healthy snacks. She needs help with fresh fruit or veggies though. Sweets she knows to ask for though

We have a drawer she can get snacks out of when she wants one. I just ask that she doesn't get a snack before a meal. It has nutrigrain bars, peanut butter crackers, popcorn, stuff like that.

It depends on the snack they're asking for and whether or not they are breakfast/lunch or dinner first
